ELM is a 3 part process that practitioners use to model and organisation or business. It is used primarily in data and technology services to link the business and technical teams. By linking the way both departments think about the business friction is reduced and more sound data models are created. Specifically it helps in modelling ensemble modelling patterns
It start with the Core Business Concepts (CBC) Then looks at the Natural Business Relationships (NBR) and finally adds context to the CBC’s.
The Modelling itself is broken up into colour categories;

- GreenĀ the unique specific Natural Business Relation

- Yellow the attribution, context describing the Core Business Concept
- Satellite
