There Needs to Be a Solution to Evaluate a Solutions Effectivness

When a company has gone through the process of change, first understanding the future state, the desired state and the gap. They have a solution which can then be analysis. As we know Maximizing solution value means understanding what has been built. To know what has been built however, something has to have been built.

There is a reliance on solution evaluation before a change has happened. This can result in relatively negative thinking; “This is how the thing your talking about fails”. However if no change has happened, no problem yet solved the project is still in ideation and requirements should be able to be changed. When a team is ideating solution evaluation techniques are not very useful.

Equally when looking at solutions for evaluation, it is important to ask the value it does add, not the value it could add. This is an important distinction.

Solution evaluation is still an important part of change management as No solution is implemented perfectly, there is always room for optimisation.
